Don't have the chance to watch that (Wall-E) yet, but watching the trailer reminds me of that other "need input" robot movie. and definitely going to watch it, big fan of animation

9/10 stars rating! is it really that good?

Sweeney Todd is great. Fantastic movie, but like many movies that seem to go under-valued by a large population base and people saying "A musical? Yes it probably is. I had to go into great lengths to watch it at the movies, here in Australia. Sit in the train for 1 1\2 hours and walk towards the cinema that took another 20 minutes. Australians seem to love Greater Union movies that are all about stupid chick flicks and action movies that suck ass.

I have heard audiences complaining about having to read subtitles. The movie was Downfall. A fantastic movie again, but people can't seem to appreciate good films that doesn't follow the same model that many American films do.

The fact that Guillermo del Toro is doing the next Hellboy has me incredibly excited. I loved Pan's Labyrinth.

I'm hoping it will be quite different and creative. Maybe even bordering on freaky. Creativity is missing in a lot of films these days. I always feel like I'm watching the same plot over and over again.

Yeah I concur. It seems to be missing in many other parts of the entertainment industry as well. They get a model that works and use the same concepts over and over again to pump out as much movies as the industry can for just simply, to make money.

Mar adentro (The Sea Inside) starring Javier Bardem and the very talented Belén Rueda (and several other wonderful actors) for which Alejandro Amenábar wrote the screenplay AND the beautiful music and which he also beautifully directed. I watched it today. And I now have no doubts whatsoever as to why it won the Oscar in 2005 for Best Foreign Language Film of the Year and 29 others out of the 58 total awards for which it was nominated.

Prepare for an experience.

Pan's Labyrinth was a movie I found to be quite creepy. Especially that awful thing with the eyes in it's hands.

I shan't really mention anyother movies, lest I look like and uncultered bafoon, but I found Kung Fu Panda and Hitchcock quite fun. The only thing wrong with going to see Hitchcock in a theatre was the accursed foriegn language students, but after being told to shut up (twice) or be thrown out (the guy was serious, there were about fifty of these kids) they settled down and acted civilized for the movie. Then they left and crowded the exit and made a fire hazard of themselves, but hey, at least they were quiet during the movie.

random thought on comic movies:

they made a farce out of Dr Doom (and i will hate them forever for doing that) transforming him into your typical "wants power to uh...destroy stuff" bad guy when hes one of the most interesting (the most interesting character period imo) Marvelverse villain ever.

J.Alba as Sue Storm is a mistake, if you want a blue eyed bombshell USE one.

The ending to X-men3 is pathetic, im talking about the power ranger costumes and "lets fly a bridge" ideas.

WTH did they do to the Juggernaut, more importantly why ???? getting it so wrong is just insane.

Spiderman 3....no really, why decide that using a retarded plot like they did and not using the Secret Wars venom origin is a good idea.

dumbing down movies for kids is wrong, for a moment i thought we might have been moving away from that image (comics r 4 kidz lol) with things like Spiderman, HULK, Unbreakable, Xmen (to a point), Hellboy, LoEG, on tv with 4400,heroes etc...but the sequels just keep on getting worse.

the really big names still havent quite come out yet...there are some huge crossover arks to be touched so they can still rectify their aim....i hope they do, boy do i hope they do -.-

I liked Hancock, although I don't like the ending and how he had to stay away from his wife or they would die WTF the movie would have been fine without that crap, what a miserable concept

Well unfortunately I don't get to see many movies due to lack of transportation. But I will say that some of the best ones I've seen have been Cloverfield and Stargate, as well as Requiem for a Dream (aside from the... sex scene). Some people really hated Cloverfield and bitched about the 1st person view the entire time.... But damn, the movie would have probably been mediocre if not for the view, and it just made the whole experience feel more creepy and threatening. Iron Man is still in my head and it's been a while now, I thought the end was kind of lame (not the scene after the credits), but it was an awesome movie.

I also have to say that I wasn't really excited about Transformers and thought it would probably suck. My bro brought over the DvD and I actually had a really good time watching it, hear there's going to be a sequel sometime in 09.

Totally agree with everything you've typed here. To be honest, one of my favorite comic book movies so far is Punisher. Hellboy was awesome, and the sequel is looking really nice, especially with del Toro at the helm. Can't wait for Dark Knight, either. I also still haven't seen Incredible Hulk, but planning to.

Speaking of Jessica Alba...

Anyone else feel really bad when watching movies with her in them. I saw The Eye, and I was just like "Jessica, you are gorgeous, but you are terrible at acting." I just want her to be talented so bad... Whenever she's doing dialog with another character, to me it sounds like she's speaking to a child for some reason. It's painful to watch her act, imo.

Also, the Eddie Murphy comment. It seems we are getting our next yearly Eddie Murphy comedy movie this year in Meet Dave. Seriously, at this point, they should forget titles and just call them "Eddie Murphy Comedy #27" and just continue to number them.

Big year for comic book movies. If Dark Knight is half as good as it's cracked up to be, we're all in for a real treat.

Also, anyone that has seen Wanted, have you also read the comic book? After reading the book, I was completely in disbelief that the movie was based off it. They were similar in almost no ways.

I watched Hancock in the cinema yesterday and I thought it was a good film, not totally great (although parts were near perfect imo) but it doesn't deserve all the negative reviews it gets. Worth watching.

Anyone agree that Shaun of the Dead is one of the greatest comedies of all time?

The original リング (Ring) kills the remake in so many ways its tragic.

on a personal note,
I went on a little trip a year ago or so...not really knowing where i was going and ended up on Sado

a very strange lonely place full of weird fishing villages and dark natural seaside graveyard caverns, simply breathtaking.

After i got back i realized that it had been the filming location for some of the Ring (jp version) and i kinda went "oh..." it used to be a prison island for political dissidents and has quite a distasteful history. awesome place.

Wanted (the comic) is a good laugh i found. looking forward to seeing the movie eventually.

Oh wow, I love the original Ring movies in Japanese. They don't have as advanced special effects, but the acting and atmosphere created is far more horrifying than the remakes IMHO. That island is so spooky-looking.
